28th March 2007 | Start time: 10.00 am | Duration: 40 minutes | Book Your Place

As a manufacturer, you need to meet increasingly rigorous customer expectations with tremendous pressure on cost, quality and responsiveness. And with customer demands constantly changing, you need the power to exchange information between your factory and supply network for a quick and effective response - a situation made ever-more difficult with manufacturing being pushed out to distant locations with stringent regulations driving the need for quality and compliance.

If you’re like most manufacturers, it’s challenging - especially when manual integration between Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and plant floor-level manufacturing applications is common throughout the industry.

Join this unique web seminar and learn how SAP can deliver the sort of timely information required to improve performance across the enterprise, with the efficient collection and analysis of plant-level data in a useable form, to all appropriate points on the factory floor.

We appreciate your time is valuable but also recognise the importance of the above to your business. This short seminar, featuring leading industry experts, will not only be a valuable use of your time, but also give you food for thought by providing best practice advice and an insight on how similar companies to yours are powering ahead.

The web event's programme includes:

Synchronising Operations for Manufacturing Excellence
Simon Pollard, Discrete Manufacturing Industrial Principal, EMEA NEWS, SAP

Simon will discuss the issues and concerns facing UK Manufacturers and offer best-practice advice in embracing manufacturing synchronisation and manufacturing excellence. Focus will be placed on the need to provide a direct connection between shop floor systems and business operations, with all data affecting manufacturing being visible in real time, including information about orders, materials, equipment status, costs and product quality. In addition, Simon will explain how this approach will assist you in becoming truly adaptive, with an integrated ERP solution that can profitably replenish the supply network, while dynamically responding to unpredictable change.

Manufacturing Integration – SAP xMII
Tim Mayes, SAP Solution Manager, CIBER

CIBER - SAP’s principal implementation partner for SAP xMII (Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence) can help manufacturers connect ERP to the plant floor in real time and deliver working intelligence to and from production personnel. Typically implemented within 4 to 10 weeks per plant, SAP xMII will deliver immediate benefits.
Tim will demonstrate how the SAP solution can be integrated with other manufacturing systems, such as manufacturing execution systems (MES), shop floor automation applications and legacy solutions. In addition, Tim will explain how SAP’s SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) platform will provide this integration directly out-of-the-box, with pre-packaged connectors that speeds implementation and ROI. The result is vastly improved interoperability of plant-to-enterprise business processes that enable synchronised manufacturing operations, and deliver a single version of the truth across the enterprise.
