Transformational Government and Beyond

Every local authority is facing massive changes to traditional working practices. Initiatives such as the Transformational Government agenda and the Gershon report has required councils across the country to examine how services can be further improved and real tangible productivity, efficiency and cost savings realised. This is no mean task and technology alone does not guarantee success.  Citizens now have higher expectations and expect councils to be able to respond and deliver in an effective and prompt manner.

For example, throughout local authorities it is common for customer or citizen information to exist in a number of disparate systems.  Often these systems are specific to certain personnel and departments, for example social care or planning, and as such creating a single view of a citizen and their interactions within your authority can be extremely difficult.

Having no “single point of truth” view on customer or citizen records means it is often impossible to identify a customer or citizen across systems.  Out of date, inaccurate or missing customer data in departmental systems means staff effort is duplicated across each department, with many performing manual updates to their own local system. Cross-departmental processes such as fraud detection and single customer matching & indexing as well as fraud detection can proof difficult.

In partnership with Microsoft and their innovative technology applications, as well as our own solution sets, we are helping local authorities collaborate and manage relationships effectively with citizens, partners and customers to meet the needs of the Transformation Agenda and beyond.
