Leisure Xcel Outsource Their Payroll Operations to CIBER UK

Leisure Xcel Ltd had two key objectives in mind when outsourcing payroll operations:

  • They wanted to remove any reliance on key individuals for such a critical back-office procedure. They considered management time could be better spent on more commercially important business areas.
  • And they wanted to be able to record and share important data easily and quickly, without the need for a large back office team.

Led by Dave Bell, the company has transformed the operational management of its North East pub, bar and nightclub operations, by implementing strong management controls.

Part of this transition involved shifting the non core task of payroll administration out to CIBER UK, a key part of the drive to minimise Head Office administration and keep costs to a minimum. Since taking control of the business, a key priority has been establishing robust administration to support staff working in the company’s nine units – pubs, late-night bars, night clubs, restaurants and a hotel.

Day-to-day back-office operations are managed by Chris Hunter. He said: “Proof, if proof were needed, was seen when summer holidays for key members in an already busy management team over-lapped, and the payroll was one less thing to worry about. One week into the process, CIBER had taken over responsibility and the payroll deadlines were guaranteed.”
